Research the Shield Oscillator Augment and put it into your Chest and Weapon, once you empty your clip, or kill an enemy then restore 25% Shields. Those who use out of cover tactics like Vanguards will need other selections. This lets you move around the combat landscape more safely, but it's best for those who use cover. Also grab when you can Evasion from Combat Tools, giving you 100DR whilst you evade dash. ![]() This lets you eat a one time big (non sync) hit without dying and assuming you have lots and LOTS of DR, the restored Shields will give you even more time to refocus your efforts in the battle, whether to get into cover, or to utilise an ability.īack to DR, get In the Trenches (Passive) from Combat Fitness to reduce Shield/Health restoration time from default 7 seconds (whilst out of cover) and to get 100DR whilst in cover (50% Damage Reduction). Saving Barrier (Passive) evolution from Barrier if Biotic Focused (Get it anyway when you can). And fully evolved, gives you plenty of Shields Over Time, keeping you up and triggering Life Support to restore Health as well when that is evolved to do so. Its your first ability if you took the Leadership Trait at the start, that'll allow you to survive well whilst without DR on the first mission. Paired with Life Support, this is your bread and butter on ANY Insanity run. Restoring Health is super important in MEASP, as there's not other easy and simple way to do so otherwise out in the middle of battle without resorting to limited resources.Įnergy Drain (Active). Life Support (Passive) evolution from Team Support for your second best friend. Even at the expense of Recharge Time and/or Damage evolutions. Wherever you can get DR (Charge Bastion Evolution, etc) or get Invulnerability Frames (Nova), you must always spec in for those on Insanity. I now know with experience and knowledge, to be able to build and survive Insanity and can survive on low levels without issues, even when caught off guard (rarely). Note, I failed badly on my first run on MEASP too (Also Insanity) for the first 35 levels and yes, I failed to recognise DR too back then. DR is your ultimate friend, because when swarmed (from known expected combat or unexpected combat), you get some more reaction time for cover that you wouldn't have otherwise. Probably not the right place but I just needed to get this off of my chestĭR You want lots and LOTS of DR for Insanity. ![]() dumb, And we haven't even talked about the guns yet. I understand that insanity is supposed to be hard, but when the only strong point of your game is the gameplay, and harder difficulties virtually cut half of that out, it's just. Tactical cloak is somewhat useful as damage buff, but combined with melee/shotgun, it gets you killedĪnnihalation is useless because you generally don't want the enemies to come that close to you. The backlash shield doesn't even have enough HP to fully block a Kett Anointed salvoįlamethrower's range is too short ->gets you killed Speaking of abilities, a lot of abilities are just completely useless. Charge ability gets you killed and the melee-shield recharge special doesn't keep you alive properly. ![]() The Vanguard profile (if you play it like in older ME games is basically a high-risk-no-return-playstyle in Andromeda. If I have to hug an enemy to use the full potential of the guns, I want atleast some return, but no, I need a full katana magazine for a single enemy. The squadmates are completely useless (even as tanks, because the enemies ONLY focus on me, even when the teammates pose the relatively bigger threat) They deal no damage, they don't listen to commands properly, nothing.Īll melee/melee buffing abilities/upgrades become useless because melee is only good for stunning weak standard enemies for a moment. In andromeda, while I generally love the gameplay (already had 2 playthroughs back on origin, now doing my 3rd one on steam), insanity difficulty ruins so much the game has to offer in terms of gameplay. am I doing something wrong or is my statement true? I always played the mass effect games on insanity difficulty and while playing Vanguard was a problem in some fights, it never felt unfair.
